wow! What a year. 2010 was really tremendous year with great memories, remarkable achievements and significant experience Alhamdulillah. I wonder time passed so fast, I remember writing Year 2009 highlights as well.
HIGHLIGHTS FROM 2010:
- I was promoted twice this year in my career at Telenor. First from Development Officer to Executive and very recently to Development Team Lead
- For the first time in my career, I lead a team of developers and delivered Project on time!
- I was invited at Global MVP Summit 2010 by Microsoft at Redmond, USA. I attended the event and this for perhaps my first trip to USA. I have also written few blog posts on “MVP Summit” as well. The visit to Microsoft Campus was really remarkable. Wish I could attend every year :)
- I completed all the course work or rather 80% of my postgraduate studies [MS (Software Project Management) ] at FAST-NUCES
- Awarded Microsoft Most Valuable Professional 2010 second time by Microsoft Corporation, USA
- Become Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist for .NET Framework 4.0 [Web and Service Communication Applications]
- Judged software competition in two events i.e. Procom 2010 and Techelite 2010
- Invited as speaker at several community sessions to talk on various technology topics
- Organized various community events being User Group Leader:
- Emerging .NET Devs: October UG Meeting on Windows Phone 7
- DevNext: How we build applications in Industry [exclusive for UIT students]
- DevNext: Web Programming Concepts using ASP.NET [exclusive for NED students]

The first session focused more on the new features in Visual Studio 2010 IDE. The speaker started discussion on the New Project Dialog improvements and Start Page customization in Visual Studio 2010 then moving towards Core IDE improvements that includes WPF based editor, easy code navigation, improved IntelliSense, column selection, call hierarchy etc.
The second session was about application life cycle management with major focus on Team Foundation Server 2010.
The third session was on mastering debugging in Visual Studio 2010. The speaker started discussion from basic debugging, such as usage of debugging points, stack trace, immediate window etc, to advance debugging features offered by Visual Studio such as conditional debugging, hit count, filter, macros, data tips, debug labels etc.
